Ensure your pond looks great and the fish are healthy by installing an aerator. These virtually maintenance free units add much-needed oxygen, dissolve organic waste, and dislodge obnoxious gas. Avoid dead fish from winter freeze-out, unsightly algae, and grow larger, healthier fish. Choose from six (fixed mount or floating) patented models that are easy-to-install, energy efficient, and operate dependably in fresh water.
How they work: A propeller-type impeller draws water inside the aerator and starts tremendous centrifugal force. Water, under high pressure, passes through slots on the aerator which stand above the water line. Sheets of water are sandwiched with open air, the air is sucked between the sheets, the oxygen is added, and the newly aerated surface water is distributed into the pond.

When talking ponds, pros refer to “acre feet”. An acre foot is one surface acre, one foot deep. If your pond covers 5 acres and averages 8 feet deep, you have approximately 40 acre feet of water. Doesn’t sound like much, does it? Nope, until you learn that one acre, one inch deep is 27,000 gallons of water. Actually, an acre-foot of water is slightly more than 325,000 gallons.
